Lutein And Zeaxanthin

Due to lack of scientific data, there are currently no dietary recommendations for lutein and zeaxanthin.

 

Results from epidemiologic studies indicate that an intake of 6 mg lutein per day is desirable for healthy individuals (20). More recent research suggests an optimal daily intake of 10 mg lutein and 2 mg zeaxanthin (21).
