
Lutein and zeaxanthin are present in a variety of fruits and vegetables: dark green leafy vegetables like spinach and kale are particularly rich sources of lutein and zeaxanthin.
Most available lutein and zeaxanthin supplements have much higher amounts of lutein than zeaxanthin. Such supplements typically contain 4–20 mg lutein and 0.2–1 mg zeaxanthin, although other dosages are available.
