Szabi is a Principal Scientist in the field of Medical Sciences and Nutrition within the Human Nutrition and Health Research Department of DSM Nutritional Products Ltd. in Basel, Switzerland. He obtained his M.D. in general medicine and Ph.D. in health sciences degrees at Semmelweis University, Budapest, Hungary. He performed his doctoral work at the Department of Nutritional Physiology of the National Institute for Food and Nutrition Science, focusing on the role of lifestyle in the prevention of childhood obesity. After pursuing postdoctoral research on metabolic syndrome at the School of Physiology, Nutrition and Consumer Sciences of North-West University in Potchefstroom, South Africa, he was engaged at Gedeon Richter Plc. in Budapest in anti-obesity drug development. Szabi's current role at DSM encompasses management of randomized controlled trials, communication of human evidence, and medical and scientific representation of the company in various international organizations and events.
